A study on effect of modified calcite on filler retention and mechanical properties of fluting papers

In this study, the use of modified calcite as a filler in fluting paper production was investigated and its effect on retention some mechanical properties papers investigated. Ground calcium carbonate (GCC/calcite) cationic starch were used for modification. Filler modification with alum CPAM resulted starch-calcite encapsulation. Produced (MC) at certain dosages. Simultaneously, made unmodified (UC), effects studied. According to study's findings, 10% MC improved provided approximately 23% more than UC. addition, air permeability values MC-filled higher UC-filled papers. With papers, better achieved, while reduction caused by addition general can be minimized. Besides, impurities white water minimized reducing dosage given during production.
